Everlon is a tried and true 1987 Hylas 47. We purchased her back in late 2017, and she has spent most of her life sailing the waters of the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. Everlon is what is known as a “blue water cruiser,” meaning she was designed to handle sailing across oceans around the world… and that is exactly what we plan to do with her! In fact, we have spent the past seven years refitting her with new rigging, new ground tackle, updated electronics, more efficient solar panels and wind generator, new batteries, and SO much more. She is practically a brand new 1987 boat!

St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, is our home port, and while we plan to return to St. Croix, our goal is circumnavigate the globe and experience the many wonders and experiences the rest of the world has to offer.

Everlon has three full time crew members that liveaboard, me (Jennie), Steven, and Lonna. Our adventure began in Phoenix, Arizona back in 2008… Steven and I met back then when he was my scuba diving instructor. After I was certified we stayed friends, then we started dating, finally we became “partners in crime,” eventually moving to St. Croix, USVI in 2013. We finally got married (or “Maui-ed” to be more specific) on May 28, 2015. Flash forward to today, and we are living aboard Everlon full time. Our third crew member, Lonna, is our formerly-feral Crucian cat who adopted us when we were land dwellers on St. Croix.

While we have had amazing sailing adventures as time allowed, once Steven retired from GoDaddy we started sailing full time. As for me, I am currently an editor for the BEST local destination website, GoToStCroix.com.

On May 14, 2026, we cast off the lines and sailed away to start our circumnavigation. As you can imagine, Caribbean life doesn’t suck, but we’re ready for something new.

We kicked off our circumnavigation plans with a seven night passage from St. Croix directly to Shelter Bay Marina in Colón, Panama. Now, we plan to cruise Guna Yala (San Blas Islands), then transit the Panama Canal to the Pacific! From there, the general plan is to make our way north all the way into the Sea of Cortez, Mexico, then to cross the Pacific Ocean to French Polynesia.
